The Hero of Dragon Quest VII is the son of a prominent fisherman and the game's main protagonist. Appearance and personality[edit]

Quest

The Hero of Dragon Quest VII is dressed in a green tunic, complete with a green hat that is the source of ridicule from Maribel. This hat covers his messy black hair. In some of the character art, he is depicted with a pet iguana.

In keeping with tradition in the Dragon Quest series, the hero does not have the ability to speak in the game because he is the personification of the player. He only communicates through prompts of yes and no. However, he is generally liked by the people of Pilchard Bay and Estard. He is somewhat of a late sleeper, much to his mother's consternation. He also has a problem refusing people's requests and is constantly bullied into doing stuff by Maribel or his uncle Pike.

In the 3DS remake, if the player decides to look in a mirror while the Hero is the first character in the party line-up, he will be captivated by how stylish he looks, find a different face looking back at him, be unable to see his reflection from steam, decide that his left side is his best side, notice he has grown a little tougher-looking, see that his face is flushed bright red, wipe the mirror, realize he didn't wash his face that morning, remain transfixed for a while, start counting his beauty spots, fix his hair, practice his most winning smile, notice his hair has grown long and unruly, realize his shirt is on back-to-front, see a tired-looking reflection, and grin awkwardly.

The game begins with the Hero and Kiefer finishing their exploration of the ruins as the sun goes down on the island. Later on that night, Maribel asks the Hero what he was doing. Regardless the answer, Maribel will not be pleased and she tells him that she will find out what he is doing sooner or later.

Morning breaks and he is awakened by Pearl, his mother, who scolds him. She gives him a pilchard sandwich and tell the Hero to deliver it to his father, Pollock. The Hero does so and is ordered by his father to clean up the ship's interior. While there, he finds Maribel trying to stow away on the ship. She tries to convince the Hero not to rat her out, when she is also discovered by the ship's cook, who throws out the young woman. After this, Pollock tells the Hero that he is not ready to come with him. He tells the Hero to look after his mother while she is preparing for the pilchard harvest. The Hero exits the ship and watches it depart.

Afterwards, he is approached by a soldier from Estard Castle. He tells the Hero that the King Donald wishes to speak to him. After the message was delivered, the Hero prepares to leave when Maribel approaches him. Overhearing this, she imposes herself on the Hero and the two head to Estard Castle Town. They arrive without any problems and Maribel leaves to look at dresses.

The Hero enters the castle to speak with King Donald. The king asks him about Kiefer, his son, and his whereabouts. Regardless of the answer, the king will be agitated by the answer. He explains that Kiefer stole the Sunstone, his mother's ring.

After his meeting with the king, the Hero goes to find Kiefer who is at the ruins, who has already tried the Sunstone on the statue in the Ruins without success. Kiefer tells the Hero about what he had found out in the library and explains that this must have something to do with the ruins. He gives the Hero the scroll and asks him to figure out something with it.

The Hero heads to the Sage on the Cliff and gives him the scroll. The Sage tells the Hero that he can translate this document. The Hero goes to find Kiefer so that they can hear the explanation.

Armed with the information, the pair head back to the ruins and finally open it. After solving the secret of the ruins, they enter the Pedestal Room. They find two tablet pieces but are unable to complete the pictograph without the final piece. Having done all that can be done for now, the two leave the ruins and head back to their respective rooms.

When the Hero returns home, he is greeted by Pollock. He tells the Hero that he had found something interesting. He gives the Hero the missing tablet piece. With the final piece, the Hero finds Kiefer and they head back to the ruins.

When the boys get there, they are confronted by Maribel who threatens to expose their secret unless they take her with them. Having no other options, they agree. The trio get to the Pedestal Room and place the final piece in the Pedestal. An amazing thing happens. The trio are transported into the past.

Once they are able to free the land of its problem, it reappears in the present world. Thus the hero, Kiefer and Maribel head off to find all of the shards and restore the world to its proper form, and to defeat Orgodemir, the evil behind it all.

From there, they go on many adventures to restore the world to its former glory.

Strategy[edit]

The Hero is very flexible in every category. He can equip most of the weapons and armors in the game. His statistics are above average which makes him very suited to be molded into whatever role the player would like. Players should make sure to have the Hero learn three intermediate classes so that the Hero Class is available as its move set are some of the best skills/spells to learn. It is also advisable to use the seeds that are found in-game on the Hero as he is the only character that stays with the player from beginning to end.

Casino

When in the Casino, it’s a game of chance. This is one of the parts of the game where you have to constantly reset. However, should you be lucky, there will be times that the chances will be in your favour and you’ll get a lot of coins. At this point, we’re trying not to burn our wallets and work with what we have.

The casino in this guide is Baccarat’s Casino.

TIP: ALWAYS SAVE BEFORE MAKING A BET. YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN YOU’RE GONNA GET SHOT IN THE FOOT FOR GAMBLING.

Terminology

DescriptionSingle Bet28:1
2 numbersQuadruple Number Bet7:1
1×3 bet2 Column Bet5:1
1×9Even or Odd Bets2:1 (lowest payout)
Betting on Red or Blue Numbers onlyNonuple Bet3:1

First stage: The Starting 600 coins

Before making your first bet, make sure you save first. The first bets you’re going to make are a Row Bet and Nonuple bet (betting on nine different numbers). No matter what selection you make, everything is at the same chance. When you start off, bet 300 on both the Row Bet and the Nonuple Bet. Your reward increases when both numbers are hit. If the number is contained in both bets then, then you’ll win 1,800 tokens. If it is just one of the bets then, you’ll now have 900 tokens. Which bet you make now depends on how much you won. Refer to the image below for a better view. Example for the Row Bet is having multiples of 3-27 and the Nonuple Bet of 1-9.

If you don’t win, that’s what the reset button is for. Restart over and over ’til you win.

2nd stage 900 – 1800 coins

For this particular part, there are two conditions:

Dragon Quest 4 Casino Cheats

IF YOU HAVE 900 COINS: You can split the coins of 50-50 on each of your bets. When you do so and win, you can at least get enough coins to make the 1,800 bet.

IF YOU HAVE 1800 COINS: You keep the two bets from the first bet, but you add one of the Evens/Odds, or Reds/Blues. With that, you can max out 500 tokens on 3 bets with 300 coins change. Repeat until you have at least 4,500 tokens.

3rd Stage

*note: you can already start maxing it out if you’re feeling ballsy and lucky about it.

IF YOU HAVE 4,500 TOKENS: This uses a variety of bets. You can either make 3 Nonuple Bets or 9 Single Bets. For higher output, do 9 single bets. The payout ratio is much higher. But if you want to play safe, put in 3 Nonuple Bets. It has a lower pay out however.

IF YOU HAVE 5,000 TOKENS: You can now combine the 9 Single Bets or the Nonuple Bet for increased pay out. However, the Single Nine Bets can cripple you due to it being the hardest to win.

IF YOU HAVE 6,000 TOKENS: Combination of 9 Single Bets, a Nonuple Bet. However, add Two Column Bets within the Nonuple Bet to create a double bet to increase the pay out.

4th Stage

IF YOU HAVE 7,500 TOKENS: Use the bets made so far. After that, add the 3 “Column Bets” of the Nonuple set.

IF YOU HAVE 9,500 TOKENS: Add the 4 “Quadruple Bets” contained within the Nonuple set. Place this along with all the other bets made so far.

5th Stage

15,500 Tokens- This uses all the bets made so far, and adds the 6 horizontal “Double Number Bets” & 6 vertical “Double Number Bets” of the Nonuple set. The payout for this bet can be 50,000 tokens!

*Optional* 16,000/16,500 Tokens- *Optional*

This uses all the bets made so far, and adds Even/Odd and/or Red/Blue bets. This is optional because it doesn’t really help earn much, if any, more because of the 50/50 chance of them helping.

The moment you hit 21,500, the pay out won’t be as big. Even with you winning or losing, there’s an average that you’ll lose either 4000-6000 coins which isn’t going to be beneficial on your part.
