Subject: IGT Help: Error Codes: 12, 61, 61-1 | Author: Mike Poggenburg
| [ Next Thread Previous Thread Next Message Previous Message] Date Posted:16:56:27 07/18/05 Mon I have an older IGT S-Plus Double Diamond Deluxe. Everything was working, but had machine turned off for months. Recently turned it on and got Error 12 and both lights on top flashing. Removed processor board and replaced battery, then replaced processor board. Lights still flash, and Error changed from 12 to 61. If I push self test button, machine chimes and Error changes to 61-1. I've tried the reset key (with door open and closed). but no change. In fact, the reset key seems non-functional. I do notice that the reels to not reset themselves. If I flip the off switch, it resets the Error at 61. I am a real newbe at this (I can push buttons and feed bills like an expert). I thank in advance for any assistance, but please keep in mind, I no nothing. [Next Thread Previous Thread Next Message Previous Message] |

After pressing the self test button and getting the 61-1 you should close the door, turn the jackpot reset key, and wait for the startup tests to run. The reels should spin, everything should then be ready for play. The lights on top will continue to flash until you play a coin. Are you waiting long enough after turning the reset key? If the machine was running before, there's no reason to think there might be a broken wire to the reset key unless you might have pulled something loose taking the processor board out. You might try clearing the CMOS chip. Either short the processor board battery for a few seconds, or remove the CMOS chip for a few seconds and reinstall it. You may get a 66 or 67 error when you power up, just cycle power and you should get the 61 error. >I have an older IGT S-Plus Double Diamond Deluxe. >Everything was working, but had machine turned off for >months. I have never had a need to use the reset key until now, so I don't know if it ever worked. When I open the door, I see no wire directly attached to the reset key. I am also not sure where to find the CMOS chip and how to clean it. >Everything sounds normal up until you turn the reset >key. [> Subject: Re: IGT Help: Error Codes: 12, 61, 61-1 | Author: Zeebadee [ Edit View ] | Date Posted:08:09:07 07/19/05 Tue There should be two small wires connected to the reset key switch, if they aren't there, that's probably what your problem is. Since the internal wiring of these machines is different for various models, I can't tell you exactly how they are routed in yours, but the basic function of the switch is to apply a momentary contact from J1 pin 22B on the processor board to the B ground. The wires should be coming from a connector somewhere near the reset switch that has other wires running to other parts of the machine. maybe they just broke or were somehow cut. If you want to test this, you can just run a couple of wires from the processor board up to the key switch. J1 is clearly marked on the processor board, and you should have no trouble finding pin 22B. The B ground is near the - end of the battery and is clearly marked. Good luck! >I have an older IGT S-Plus Double Diamond Deluxe. >Everything was working, but had machine turned off for >months. Recently turned it on and got Error 12 and >both lights on top flashing. Igt Slot Machine Repair
[> [> Subject: Re: IGT Help: Error Codes: 12, 61, 61-1 | Author: Mike Poggenburg [ Edit View ] | Date Posted:09:47:11 07/20/05 Wed No loose or cut wires visable. Furthermore, is no apparent way to connect wires to reset key assembly. The reset key assembly does have a downward leg attached to it that rotates 90 degrees to a horizontal position toward the front of the door. There is a horizontal part (63907900B) that is almost in contact with the leg. This horizontal part has a knurled knob attached to it that goes thru the side if door and comes out just below the reset key. If I turn the reset key (leg rotates out of the way, toward front of door), I can pull the knurled knob and the horizontal part slides toward the side of the door. If these details have nothing to do with the reset or are just confusing you, I have yet another stupid question about your work around. I can find J1 pin 22B and BGND. Are you saying to attach a wire to each, reset the processor board into the mother board, power switch on, and then touch the two wires to the reset key assembly? The pins on J1 are pretty close toghther and the fit of the processor board to the mother board is pretty tight. Can't quite picture the two wires not getting pinched or coming loose. As you can tell, I really don't know much about this. >There should be two small wires connected to the reset >key switch, if they aren't there, that's probably what >your problem is. The reset switch is normally mounted on the right side of the machine, Not in the door but above/behind where the pull handle is. Should also be a serial plate in the same area.
